Continuing its strategy of launching the same phone in several countries with different names, Xiaomi now presents the Redmi 10C in Malaysia as a renamed version of the already known Redmi 10 launched in India – which despite the same name, is a different version of Redmi 10 or Redmi 10A that arrived in Nigeria.
The Redmi 10C retains most of the features of the Indian Redmi 10, including its 6.71-inch IPS LCD screen with HD resolution and a traditional 60 Hz refresh rate. The look is simple, with a polycarbonate body and striped finish on the back panel.
Equipped with a Snapdragon 680 processor, the model only supports 4G connectivity and is sold with 4 GB of RAM and options of 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, expandable via micro SD.
Xiaomi still maintains the same set of cameras, with a 5 MP front camera inside a dot notch and two rear cameras inside a rectangle with rounded corners positioned in the upper left corner, which is inside another even larger rectangle where the fingerprint and the Redmi brand are. The main camera is 50 MP and the secondary camera is 2 MP, being used only to record depth data.
The difference between the new Redmi 10C and the Indian Redmi 10 is for the battery, which leaves the capacity of 6,000 mAh to offer 5,000 mAh, still enough for a long period of use.
The model also has NFC, headphone jack, light sensors, approach and accelerometer, USB-C port, and charger included in the box.
Although its battery supports 18W charging, the charger included in the Redmi 10C’s box delivers maximum power of only 10W, so it is necessary to purchase a new adapter to take advantage of fast charging.
Redmi 10C Price in Nigeria and Availability
Despite being announced in Malaysia first, the Redmi 10C price in Nigeria starts from NGN 89,900 or approximately $164 for the base variant to as high as NGN 120,000 or $219 for the highest variant.
